Sunday Oct 19, 2008

Venus Williams has won the Zurich Open for her second singles title of the season after victory at Wimbledon in July.
Williams beat Flavia Pennetta 7-6 (1), 6-2 in Sunday’s final. The 28-year-old American last won the Zurich title as a teenager in 1999.
The win should seal Williams’ place at the season-ending WTA Tour Championship in Doha next month.
Pennetta went in with a 3-1 career record against Williams and had beaten her in Moscow last week.
